Danfoss - The Danfoss Truck Tour – A Resounding Success!

Danfoss Truck Tour - Virtual Reality Experience - VLT Drives

Danfoss - Truck

The Danfoss Truck Tour, which started in April 2016, is expected to visit over 80 destinations before arriving home at the end of October to give the truck team some much needed rest! The truck caused quite a stir at several venues throughout the UK & Ireland between 27 June and 1 July. Watch the new YouTube video of the London event to find out what our visitors had to say on the day about their Danfoss Drives Truck Tour experience. Remember, a better tomorrow is driven by drives.

During the tour, the Danfoss team has been sharing its drives and application expertise with customers in all industry sectors and helping them make the most of the innovative Danfoss solutions. End users, contractors, consultants and partners who have visited the truck have all found interesting developments that will help boost their competitive edge.

For the first time ever, the truck tour benefited from virtual reality experience. Visitors simply put on VR goggles and entered a virtual reality tour of four different industry segments – water and wastewater, food and beverage, marine, and HVAC. The virtual reality presentations offered ‘almost’ hands-on experience of Danfoss’ application-optimised products without the customers needing to go any further than the demo truck!

Danfoss - Virtual Reality ExperienceEach of the virtual reality presentations includes material shot using a 360° real-life video drone combined with animated footage. The AC drives featured are shown in the distinctive Danfoss X-ray image style. The voiceover talks customers through the entire experience and explains more about the benefits of application-optimised products.

Outside the virtual reality presentations, products highlighted on the truck include the new VLT® Midi Drive FC 280, which delivers flexible and efficient motor control for a wide variety of applications in the food and beverage, materials handling and processing industries.

Also highlighted is the VLT® AQUA Drive FC 202, which provides the highest level of performance for AC-motor-driven water and wastewater applications. Visitors to the truck also heard more about the enhancements to the VACON® 100 family: drives in this range are now available with ratings up to 800 kW, and a new enclosed version has just been introduced.

Guy Kennett, Technical Manager at K2 Drives and Controls, who attended the London event during the truck tour, commented, "For K2, the truck visit was a great success, with a good turn-out of customers. We’ve had many favourable comments about the interesting products on the truck, the professionalism of the Danfoss team and, of course, the virtual reality demonstrations. All in all, the visit of the Danfoss truck to K2 was an excellent event, well organised and well executed!"
