West London Security - London Law Firm Installs New Read In, Read Out Access Control

Access Control - Access Control System - Door Entry Systems

West London Security - London Skyline

One of the main suppliers to London’s top law firms, London Legal, needed read-in, read-out access control. Read-in, read-out access control requires a card or key fob to both enter and exit a secure area. This allows you to create a full audit trail, which is vital in high security installations. As London Legal’s work requires the collection and storage of sensitive data, the security of their offices is vitally important. To achieve a safe and secure environment, London Legal contracted West London Security (WLS) to provide a new access control system. They chose WLS based on our expertise in the field of access control as well as our competitive quotation.

Requirements: read-in, read-out access control with scope for future expansion
A recent upgrade of London Legal's IT system required the construction of a new server room. In order to protect the equipment inside, London Legal wished to install a read-in, read-out access control system. London Legal also wanted to protect their business further by restricting access via the main entrances and exits to the office itself. The server room and main entrance required different access levels and the system also needed to allow for future expansion.

Our solution: Paxton Net2 access control with full audit trail & fire alarm integration
WLS’s solution was to install a Paxton Net2 access control system conforming to NACP 30 standards. To restrict access to the server room we installed proximity card readers on both sides of the door. The doors now require a proximity key card to release the electronic magnetic locks for both entry and exit. This provides London Legal with full audit trail and the ability to restrict access to the server room to authorised personnel only.

The main doors to the office were also fitted with proximity readers, allowing only staff members to enter freely. The main doors also interface with the fire alarm system to allow for emergency release in the event of a fire. Control and administration is possible via a PC installed with Net2 Pro software and USB enrolment reader. The Net2 Pro software also provides time sheet and attendance software, security lock down, anti-pass back, plus fire alarm and intruder alarm integration.

Results: a secure, well-administered environment for both staff and business
London Legal was extremely pleased with the work WLS carried out. The read-in, read-out access control system we installed is flexible and fully expandable. London Legal is now able to create a full audit trail of access to both their server room and office. The fact that it does a fire alarm roll call helps with health and safety. As a National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold Approved installation company, upon completion we were also able to issue the customer an NSI Certificate of Compliance.

London Legal’s general manager Graham Wilson said: "We chose WLS to update our current entry/exit requirements and we found them extremely professional, diligent and cost effective. The one issue we had, which was not down to the initial WLS installation was sorted out immediately. We found them a very good company to work with and would recommend the services they provide in the future."
