Recognition of talent, and its acknowledgement through promotion has resulted in a quarter-century of service.

Gilberts Blackpool, the UK’s leading air movement specialist, has honoured the loyalty and ability of its Technical Product Manager Alastair McGowan with a ceremony recognising his 25 years’ service.

"In this day and age, it is increasingly unusual to have members of staff stay, and grow with you, for decades. Our board of directors aims to provide a positive working environment that rewards talent and loyalty; Alastair’s long service attainment is the latest, and demonstrates we are a great company to work with, and for," observes Gilberts’ managing director Jonathan Haslam.

Adds Alastair, "The honesty and integrity of the people at Gilberts, from shop floor to the board, coupled with the ability to undertake a variety of roles and develop my skill base, have been major factors to my long service."

Alastair, 49, from Fleetwood, first joined Gilberts as contracts engineer, moving to the company from Glasdon where he was drawing office supervisor. Since joining Gilberts, he has progressed through roles including Projects/Drawing Office Manager and Projects Department Manager to his latest post as Technical Product Manager.

Married with two daughters, Alastair enjoys travelling and sport in his spare time.

Gilberts was founded in 1960, and has a reputation for quality throughout its operation. The family-owned company was started in founder Gil Haslam’s garage but now occupies an 85,000 sq ft site in Blackpool, where it designs and manufactures its brand-leading air movement grilles, louvres, diffusers and natural ventilation products.
