West London Security - Fire & Security Systems for Top London Housing Association

Security Systems - Alarm System - Intruder Alarm - Access Control

West London Security - Peabody HQ

Fire & Security System installation for Peabody's central London headquarters. Work was completed over a 15 month period whilst Peabody was in full occupation. West London Security (WLS) was highly responsive to the client’s needs, resulting in further work at the same site and further Peabody sites around London.

The clients - Peabody & Parkeray
Peabody is one of the oldest and largest housing providers in London. It was founded in 1862 by the American banker and diplomat George Peabody, with a view to improve the lives of the city's poor and needy. 150 years later, Peabody owns and manages more than 27,000 homes across the capital, providing housing for around 80,000 residents.

Parkeray is a professional main contractor specialising in the fit out and refurbishment of commercial office space, predominantly in London and the Home Counties. Like WLS, they are comfortable working on projects of any scale, large or small.

Requirements - Intruder Alarm, Fire Alarm, CCTV & Access Control
In the third quarter of 2013, after a considered tender process, Parkeray awarded WLS the contract to provide a Fire & Security System for Peabody’s new Estates Office at 116-118 Walworth Road in South London.

WLS was tasked with providing an Intruder Alarm, Fire Alarm, CCTV and Access Control. Following a successful installation, Peabody took out a Service & Maintenance Contract with us to provide ongoing cover for all of the installed Fire & Security Systems.

Then, in February 2014, during a refurbishment of Peabody’s headquarters on Westminster Bridge Road, WLS was invited by Parkeray to carry out an upgrade of the existing Fire Alarm System. Upon inspection, it quickly became apparent that the incumbent Fire Alarm System did not meet current fire safety standards as set out in BS5839:2013 and that a full design and review was required.

Our solution - Honeywell ZX5SE Fire Alarm with Apollo XP95 Detectors
WLS proposed to replace the existing legacy GENT Fire Alarm System with a new system comprising of a Honeywell ZX5SE control panel and a range of Apollo XP95 detection and alert devices to provide a complete Fire Detection System.

Results: Further CCTV, Access Control & Intruder Alarm upgrades
The work was completed over a 15 month period whilst Peabody was in full occupation. West London Security was, as ever, highly responsive to the client’s needs and established a good working relationship with the Facilities Management Team. This led to further work being commissioned, including the upgrade of the existing CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm Systems.

Since our first project on behalf of Peabody, WLS continues to provide a full Security & Fire Alarm Systems installation and maintenance service for both new and existing local Estate Offices as and when required.
