Bells Secure Further Iconic London Development

The Scalpel - Generator Systems - Power Generation - Acoustic Enclosure

Bells Power - St Mary’s Axe

Having already supplied and installed Generation to the changing face of the London Iconic skyline such as the Broadgate Tower, Heron Tower and The Shard, Bells Power Solutions have secured another Iconic building within the City of London a short walk from another of their prestigious projects The Scalpel.

60 -70 St Mary’s Axe dubbed as the Can of Ham due to the building’s resemblance to the tinned meat popular during wartime rationing, Bells have been contracted by Mace MEP to provide a turnkey generator solution consisting of 2 off FG Wilson P2250-1 11KV Generators within a bespoke acoustic enclosure to be installed on Level 26 in the apex of the curved roof.

A complete fuel system is to be installed throughout the building to include a 24 hour capacity bulk storage tank located in the Basement Level B3 pumping 100m vertically to the Generator day tanks.

A full PLC system is to be installed complete with 3 outstations and a fibre ring, which will control the operation and synchronisation of the Generators as well as the operation of the main MV VCBs and monitoring of the fuel system.

Installation is to commence in Q3/Q4 2017 with completion of the project expected for mid to late 2018.
