Piller Technology Chosen for Next Generation Data Centre

Data Centre - Uninterruptable Power Supply - Diesel Rotary UPS

Piller - maincubes

Piller technology has been selected to protect maincubes, an international data centre group headquartered in Frankfurt, for a new data centre in the Rhine-Main area of Germany.

ARGE MCO, the consortium for the new data centre construction, has invested in Piller DRUPS technology to secure an uninterruptable power supply for the new innovative colocation data centre which will have a total floor space of around 8,000 m² and 4,200 m² computing area.

The Piller solution utilises 6 Piller UNIBLOCK UBTD+ Diesel Rotary UPS in a proven Isolated Parallel (IP-Bus) configuration to provide reliable and sustainable power supply.

Bernd Ehlert, Managing Director, Piller CoKG said "As a world leader in power conditioning technology we will provide maincubes with one of the most energy-efficient power protection solutions available."

"Piller's IP-Bus system uniquely combines the highest availability requirements with the advantages of all redundant UPS configurations offering higher power efficiency, a maximum level of safety and outstanding maintainability of the UPS in running mode. This is of significant importance in data centers where reliability is the highest priority."

Awarded the German Data Centre Award, for visionary data centre architecture in the planning stage, maincubes claims it offers a new breed of colocation data centres. Pioneering room design, higher level of operational reliability at a substantially greater performance and cost-effectiveness guarantee optimised resource utilization. Maximum energy efficiency and sustainability are their top priorities.
