Vertiv Awarded "Data Centre Cooling Product of the Year" at the 2017 Data Centre Solutions Awards in London

Data Centre Cooling - DCS Awards - Adiabatic Freecooling Chiller

Vertiv - 2017 Data Centre Solutions Awards

Vertiv, formerly Emerson Network Power, has won the Data Centre Cooling Product of the Year at the Data Centre Solutions (DCS) Awards for the third year running. The DCS awards recognise the achievements of vendors and their business partners alike in all of the main areas of the data centre market in Europe and are determined by public voting. This year Vertiv was honoured to be finalist for four awards, namely:

  • Data Centre Cooling Product of the Year for the Liebert® AFC adiabatic freecooling chiller
  • Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year for the Liebert PDX with EconoPhase™ installation at the Amdocs data centre in London
  • Data Centre Power Product of the Year for the high-efficiency Liebert EXL UPS
  • Data Centre Management Project of the Year for the implementation of the Trellis™ DCIM Platform at Deltalis data centre

The Winning Solution

Competing with seven other shortlisted products, the public voted for the Vertiv adiabatic freecooling chiller, Liebert AFC, as the winner of Data Centre Cooling Product of the Year.

Liebert AFC combines outstanding levels of energy efficiency allowed by freecooling, together with endless availability guaranteed by the scroll or screw compressors circuits.

Liebert AFC adiabatic wet pad system increases the freecooling operation all year round and allows for much greater mechanical efficiency, achieving an annual efficiency 30 to 40 percent higher than other frecooling chiller solutions in the market. Moreover the unit can also guarantee maximum cooling availabilityeven under the most critical conditions such as fluctuating power supplies, limited water supply and high ambient temperatures.

"Selecting an adiabatic freecooling chilled water solution utilising the latest technologies in a fully integrated product such as the Liebert AFC allows new generation data centres to deliver ultimate reliability and efficiency," said Kevin Brady, vice president of thermal management for Vertiv in Europe, Middle East and Africa. "We are delighted to be awarded Data Centre Cooling Product of the Year for the third year running, it is a real testament to our dedication to constantly developing our cooling portfolio to meet the evolving needs of our global customers" added Kevin.
