Colleagues from Electrium recently took part in the BITC ‘Give and Gain Fit for Fun’ Day at Glebefields Primary School in Tipton.

The event which also involved local organisations such as West Bromwich Albion Football Club, aims to promote a positive impact of long term health in young people.

The event encourages physical and healthy life style choices as well as discussing various elements of science, engineering and technology.

Local businesses were challenged to devise a 30 minute challenge which would be repeated throughout the day with different year groups.

The challenges would need to have an element of a physical challenge but also some level of mental stimulation.

Colleagues at Electrium devised three exciting challenges. These included a relay race to assemble a consumer unit, a bottle flip challenge and the opportunity to create a unique paper aeroplane which would be flown into different buckets in order to score points.

Electrium’s Kevin Bramhill, Head of Quality and Business Excellence, felt that event was a great success “It was fantastic to take part in the BITC Give and Gain Fit For Fun Day recently. There was great engagement from the pupils involved, even with different groups eager to find out when they would be involved! I’m proud to be part of the Electrium team involved on the day and this event shows how we’re always keen to help out and be part of our local communities.”

Electrium are part of the Siemens CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Initiative. Colleagues from Electrium take part in numerous projects throughout the year in our local communities. These include reading assistance in local schools, restoring community gardens, wildlife maintenance and many more.
