Xylem, a global water technology leader, is showcasing a complete range of energy efficient system solutions – all compliant with or exceeding the latest EU efficiency regulations – for residential and commercial building applications at Europe’s leading exhibition for comfort technology – Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2018, 13-16 March 2018 in Milan, Italy. Highlights include the Lowara brand “Smart Pump” range, equipped with a built-in ultra-premium efficiency IE5 motor and an embedded electronic drive to achieve the best performances in water supply and HVAC applications, and the Next Generation HYDROVAR, an advanced variable speed drive (VSD) that can reduce energy consumption by as much as 70 per cent.

Dan Iversen, Vice President, Marketing & Strategy Europe at Xylem, commented: “The smart cities agenda, coupled with new European Union (EU) regulations on energy efficiency and a global construction sector characterised by heavy cost pressures, is driving an evolution across the commercial buildings services industry. With pumping systems accounting for almost 20 percent of the world’s electrical energy demand, efficiency is becoming a moral imperative, and water technology innovations have a central role to play in supporting the drive for greater efficiency.”

The 41st occurrence of MCE will serve as a global stage for Xylem’s solutions for water supply, wastewater and HVAC management in the building services market, including:

  • Next Generation Xylem HYDROVAR® – Introduced in 1995, the 5th generation of the HYDROVAR variable speed drive (VSD) continues its legacy as the industry’s choice for optimizing fixed speed pump efficiency. Capable of running systems with up to eight pumps, the HYDROVAR has multimaster functionality, enabling each individual pump to take control if one or more units or sensors are not active. This continuous booster system operation ensures reliable water pressure across many residential and commercial applications. Beyond VSD status, the Next Generation HYDROVAR is an intelligent control system that accurately adapts to system demands, helping end-users realize cost and energy savings while achieving optimum system performance.
  • Flygt Concertor™ – The world’s first wastewater pumping system with integrated intelligence. The Concertor offers a unique synergy between software functions and state-of-the-art hardware. Concertor’s system design works in harmony to reduce total cost of ownership while delivering the highest quality and reliability. This new wastewater pumping system senses the operating conditions of its environment and adapts its performance in real time to provide feedback to station operators. With high operational flexibility, Concertor takes wastewater pumping to a whole new level.
  • Lowara “Smart Pump” range – A complete, single phase pump range fitted with the latest high efficiency permanent magnet motor technology for residential, commercial and OEM market applications. Lowara Smart Pumps are ‘plug and play’; very simple to install and commission both in new and retrofit installations. The embedded electronic drive called “e-SM” dramatically extends the working area of a pump to maximize flexibility and enhance system design. The drive also enables the size of the motor to be reduced, resulting in a more compact footprint and making it suitable for tightly-spaced installations.
  • Lowara end suction, inline and multistage pumps – A complete portfolio of premium efficiency pumps, booster sets, motors and drives including:
    - e-SV stainless steel vertical multistage is a highly reliable and technologically advanced multipurpose pump. It is capable of satisfying the needs of a wide variety of users in Water supply, pressure boosting and HVAC applications.
    - e-NSC end suction pumps, the natural choice for water transport, hydronic heating, chiller or fire protection systems
    - e-SH single impeller centrifugal pump made in AISI 316 stainless steel, which makes it the right pump for moving water and aggressive liquids in a vast number of applications where high chemical resistance is needed.
    - e-LNE & e-LNT single impeller centrifugal pumps with in-line suction and discharge delivery flanges. This series has a pullback design that allows to extract the impeller, adapter and motor without disconnecting the pump body from the piping system.
    - e-HM series, a modern highly efficient horizontal multistage pump. The residential version offers a reliable water supply for most buildings – from family houses up to 10 floor apartment buildings.
    - GHV series, a variable speed booster sets range assembled with two and up to a maximum of four vertical multistage pumps from the e-SV series. Featuring the Hydrovar variable speed drive, the GHV adjusts the speed of the electric pump in order to maintain constant pressure in the system.
    - GEM series firefighting booster range is available in a modular system that’s fully compliant with the EN12845 standard for automatic sprinkler systems and the UNI 10779 standard for hydrant systems. Xylem configures all modules as a single unit containing an e-NSC series horizontal pump, which can be either electric or diesel according to your needs.
  • Lowara ecocirc XL and XLplus – High efficiency large wet rotor circulators that provide state-of-the-art technology in hydraulics, motors and intelligent controls, and are designed with simplicity and efficiency in mind. Lowara has recently extended the range, adding several new models that address the full spectrum of light commercial applications; twin-head models in both flanged and threaded versions for greater application flexibility; and the ecocirc XL and ecocirc XLplus with 15 and 18 meters maximum head for a wider range of performance coverage. Bronze models for domestic hot water applications in pump body are also available in stainless steel for improved efficiencies. These expansions make the ecocirc XL and XLplus one of the broadest circulator ranges available today.
  • Lowara DOMO GRI – The DOMO GRI is a compact, high-performance submersible grinder for wastewater pumping in residential and commercial applications. The DOMO GRI range has been recently extended with the addition of two models: the 1.1 kW high flow, which nearly doubles the flow compared to the standard version, and the 1.5 kW high head (up to 29 meters). The new models feature also an air bubble prevention system for ease of commissioning, and a new standing system for greater stability. The main application for Domo GRI is pressurized sewage systems that are generally used when flat land, uphill topography, surface rock and high water tables pose tough challenges for conventional gravity systems.
  • Lowara 8-inch borehole motors – This newly designed 8” borehole rewindable motor range is suitable for a wide range of applications, including clear-water supply and building services. The motors combine increased power capacity with a smaller footprint for easier installation due to a modern, updated stator design that is more efficient and compact. The rewindable motor design strongly reduces repair costs in case of damage of the stator windings, which can be rewound locally. This allows customers to avoid long-distance shipments of replacement parts and limits downtime periods, significantly reducing the life cycle cost of the equipment.
  • Lowara e-GS, Z series and Scuba borehole pumps – First introduced at the Paris International Exposition in 1937, the Lowara 4"-12" submersible borehole pumps range is now available in AISI 304, AISI 316 and duplex stainless steel for long service life. The hydraulics are designed for high sand handling capability, making these pumps suitable for a wide range of applications including water supply and irrigation, desalination, deep well dewatering and geothermal open loop systems.

Products will be displayed in three different thematic islands: Water Supply, Wastewater and HVAC.
