Gilberts of Blackpool - End of an Era

Air Movement - Product Development - Natural Ventilation - Mechanical Ventilation

Gilberts Grant Graham

A Blackpool engineering company is tooling up for a new generation of expertise.

Gilberts, Britain’s leading independent designer and manufacturer of air movement components, has said goodbye to its tool room supervisor, Grant Graham.

From Poulton-le-Fylde, Grant has retired after almost 49 years of service. His loyalty to the Blackpool company was recognised with a special presentation by Jonathan Haslam, managing director, and son of Gilberts’ founder Gil Haslam.

"It is rare in this day and age to find such long-term service to one company," observed Jonathan. "Grant joined as an apprentice engineer back in 1969, straight from school, and has been here almost as long as the company itself! His commitment and understanding of our continuing product development has been acknowledged with his promotion over the years, culminating in supervision of our state-of-the-art tool room.

"Our ethos is about value engineering and Grant has been instrumental in delivering that. We can’t produce anything without timely, accurate production of the tools for each component: Grant has played a vital role in our growth and continuing success, ensuring our manufacturing facility had what was needed, when it was needed, and to the quality required."
