Samsung Launches New Generation of High-Performance VRF: DVM S 30HP

Samsung Electronics UK has today showcased the new DVM S 30HP to the European HVAC market at MCE (Mostra Convegno Expocomfort) 2016. The new product challenges industry standards to combine the DVM S with cutting-edge innovation for enhanced performance, efficiency and reliability.

The new Samsung DVM S 30HP features a number of revolutionary features to boost performance, including a new Super Inverter Scroll Compressor with flash injection technology and an optimised bypass valve location to increase heating capacity by 29% compared to a conventional VRF unit.

The further addition of a hybrid heat exchanger increases the heat exchange area while an optimised refrigerant control delivers greater efficiency (10%) and a new oval-shaped diffuser application improves the air flow path and increases the air flow rate by 17%.

Samsung - DVMIncreased high-performance capacity
The 80cc compressor in the DVM S 30HP delivers a 14.3% increase in displacement compared to conventional models, while the adoption of an asymmetric algebraic scroll allows for a thicker profile in the centre and provides greater suction area.

The inclusion of Flash Injection Technology increases refrigerant flow by 32%, extending the heating operation range at -25°C and increasing heating capacity by 29%. The technology provides an injection of mixed vapour with liquid refrigerant for increased refrigerant flow density at low ambient temperature.

The Samsung DVM S delivers up to 120HP with a combined four modular system, an increase of 50% in HP compared to conventional models with smaller modular systems. The single 30HP unit measures less than 1m² and weighs 360kg, significantly reducing installation space.

Greater efficiency
The Samsung DVM S is engineered to deliver optimised refrigerant control, enabling a 2.5% increase in performance and a 4% increase in efficiency through the adoption of a reservoir and control of the refrigerant by the use of individual electronic expansion valve (EEVs).

The new oval-shaped design of the diffuser application in the Samsung DVM S increases air flow rate by 5% while reducing noise levels by 3dBA. It has also improved the air flow path by 17%, from 290 to 340 CMM (m³ per min of air flow).

Thanks to an innovative leak detection system, the system automatically begins an active pump down process to collect the refrigerant and close all valves to isolate it within the unit.
