Cable Management - Sean Raymond - Unitrunk Training - Steel Industry

Unitrunk - Sean Raymond

Cable management specialist, Unitrunk, has appointed experienced sales manager, Sean Raymond, to the newly-created post of commercial lead for its Newcastle depot, continuing the company’s strategic focus on leveraging its depot network to strengthen relationships across the supply chain.

Sean joins an established Unitrunk team in Newcastle, which is one of the company’s seven depot locations in the UK and Ireland. The depot network, which also includes stock holding and sales bases in Harlow, Bristol, Wolverhampton, Manchester, Livingstone and Dublin, is designed to offer wholesalers and contractors a local point of contact with next day delivery to site or same day collection from the depot. Alongside his sales responsibilities, Sean’s role also includes developing relationships with both wholesalers and contractors to provide specification support, technical assistance and access to Unitrunk training.

Sean explains: “Unitrunk only sells cable management through the wholesale channel but one of the key functions of my role as commercial lead is to help wholesalers connect with contractors and ensure that we support both these customer groups in any way we can. That might involve providing a fast decision on pricing, facilitating a bespoke order to the contractor’s timescale or arranging a site visit for installation training. The diversity of the role and the ability to really add value for customers are amongst the factors that attracted me to the job.”

Originally trained as a quantity surveyor, Sean joins Unitrunk from the steel industry and brings 15 years sales experience to the company. A native of the North East, he understands the competitive challenges of the regional electrical market and the opportunity to drive growth for Unitrunk’s RIS (rapid installation systems) cable management portfolio.

Sean adds: “Unitrunk is a company that has been pushing the boundaries of innovation in its sector for more than 50 years and I am joining at a time when there is an ambitious growth plan in place, with dynamic leadership in the senior team and new commercial leads in each of the depots. My new role will enable me to ensure we maximise in the opportunity in the North East market and ensure that contractors make the most of the reduced installation times and cost savings our systems offer, while supporting sales through our wholesale partners.”
